A very nice guesthouse with delicious food 😋. We started our hick next to the guesthouse, walked towards to Kandern (from Holzen to Kandern) through woods, it was first a uphilling path and difficulty level was medium. At Kandern you can even try the old train (we didn't try but we could hear the sound while walking in the woods. On the way back to Holzen, we passed Wolfsschlucht. This was one of the nicest path in blackforest, especially in earlly atumn time with colorful leaves on the ground. After 2.5 hours of hick we tried Cordonbleu with Spätzle, and Gemischten Salat. It was really delicious. Note that the they just accept cash, so someone should go to the first automate with car (in Kandern) and get some cash while others were chiling at guesthouse 😬.

Very delicious Baden cuisine. On Friday delicious Leberle. The dumpling eater is a rarity, which is to be seen in the inn.

Simply quaint, markgräfler Spezialidäde, Hirschebrägel is great. The charade is alemannic. Unnecessary coin and music box throw!

After 20 years I was there again. Everything perfect and unchanged cozy. The menu is the same and still printed on the same wrapping paper. Thank you for so much tradition, which is still contemporary. The food is delicious and really cheap. Atmosphere is great.

We were in deer again after a long time. Saturday afternoon in February, the restaurant only sparsely heated. The small mixed salad is called a small salad. My sour Leberle with Brägel were a decent portion, my wife's Hirschenbrägel has the plate not even half covered. It tasted good to us, the prices are at the upper end of the pain threshold.

But: - the prices are overdrawn - The portion sizes are at the lower limit of the usual - The presentation of the food seems unimaginative - you often hear "there's no such thing today" In short, it tastes good but you can not go home satisfied.

Well ... Do not quite understand the high ratings. In principle, there is nothing more than average food. Small portions, quite salty and for the offered simply too expensive. The service ... well ... But we are unfortunately used to a few exceptions here in the border area to Switzerland meanwhile unfortunately. I praise myself because the northern Markgräflerland direction Freiburg.
